Requirements
for Chartering a Florida RACCA INC, Chapter: - The local
Association must be a registered Florida Not-For-Profit Corporation
{IRS Code 501,C(6)}. A copy of your Articles of Incorporation or
your most recent corporation registration renewal must accompany
your Charter Application.
- Local Chapters
are encouraged to maintain their existing identity. It is desirable
that your office stationery and other forms of correspondence
identify your group as a Chapter of Florida RACCA, Inc.
- A local
Chapter must maintain a minimum of 20 active Contractor members.
Florida RACCA, Inc. dues will be collected on all Contractor
members.
- A local
Chapter must maintain its own Bylaws and conduct an election
process for its leadership.
- A local
Chapter must maintain its own records and bank accounts.
- A local
Chapter must maintain a permanent mailing address and business
telephone number.
- A local
Chapter must employ a secretary to conduct its affairs. This
can be a part-time position or a contracted position.
- A local
Chapter must conduct (at minimum) six (6) Membership meetings
and six (6) Board of Directors meetings per year. Minutes or
some descriptive narrative of these meetings will be forwarded
to the state Association office within 30 days of the occurrence.
- Local Chapters
will submit a quarterly listing of all active Contractor members
for dues billing purposes. These listings should be submitted
on or about the last day of the calendar quarter (March 31,
June 30, September 30, December 31). These listings shall contain
the Contractors business name, business mailing address,
business phone number and the person to contact. These are
minimum requirements so that the state office can establish
lines of communication with individual members. It is all right
if the list contains additional information.
- Local Chapters
will appoint or elect a representative to sit on the Board
of Florida RACCA, Inc. The representative shall support the
views of a majority of the Contractors of his/her local Association
on the issues.
Provisional
Chapter Status
The Board
of Directors of Florida RACCA, Inc. may, at their discretion,
award a Provisional Charter to a local group that
has not met one or more of the above requirements. This Provisional status
is given while the local Association works to meet all of the
criteria. This Provisional status may not exceed
24 months.
